Rice Polishing Machine: An Important Equipment for Improving Rice Appearance and Quality

With the development of the global rice processing industry, consumers are paying increasing attention not only to the taste and nutritional value of rice but also to its appearance, whiteness, gloss, and overall quality.

In modern rice milling plants, the rice polishing machine (Rice Polisher) is an important piece of equipment in the production of high-quality milled rice.

Through the polishing process, the surface of the rice kernels can be further refined, making the finished rice smoother, cleaner, and more glossy while improving its overall commercial value.

What Is a Rice Polishing Machine?

A rice polishing machine is specialized equipment used for the surface treatment of milled rice. It is normally installed in the polishing section of a complete rice milling line.

After paddy goes through paddy cleaning, destoning, husking, paddy separation, and rice milling, a small amount of bran powder and fine particles may still remain on the surface of the milled rice.

The rice polishing machine uses friction, pressure, controlled water mist, and interaction between rice kernels to further remove bran powder and fine particles from the surface of the rice.

As a result, the rice becomes smoother, cleaner, and more glossy.

For this reason, the rice polisher is an important machine for improving the appearance and commercial quality of finished rice.

How Does a Rice Polishing Machine Work?

After entering the polishing machine, rice kernels are continuously conveyed forward through the polishing chamber by the internal screw conveyor or feeding mechanism.

Under controlled pressure and flow conditions, the rice kernels come into contact with the polishing roller, screen, and other rice kernels, creating a controlled polishing action.

Depending on the machine design and processing requirements, a suitable amount of water mist can be added during the polishing process. This helps achieve a more uniform polishing effect on the surface of the rice.

During this process, bran powder and fine particles are removed from the surface of the rice and discharged through the screen.

The final product has a smoother surface and improved gloss and appearance.
